These are the most hauntingly beautiful "dream-time" images i've ever seen! Trey Ratcliff is a consummate artist using photography as his medium. The scenes captured here are like a "vacation album" but one that you want to pour through time and time again, letting the images spellbind you and hoping they'll enter your dreams and take you to these magical places. Viewing them leaves with the feeling you wake up with some times after a particularly 'lucid dream', or a dream with especially lucid images, and you just want to go back there. You're haunted all day by the beauty and poignancy of those images, those magical places and the feelings they evoke. You keep hoping that they'll come back when you go to sleep again.
I've seen many of the places pictured here in "real life" but not the way Trey sees and captures them. Like all exceptional artists, he captures the depth and magic and spirit behind the masque of 'the scenery'.
I especially like his horses! Each one owns the place and the picture while the unique personality of each horse comes through, even as each one shines with that special fey beauty that big cats and horses and wild things have. There's just nothing else like them...except places. And these Trey "paints" in all their sublime 'other-worldliness' as well.
Viewing these is like walking through a gallery of the works those Old Masters who also captured the spirit and visions 'behind the scenes'. Before art itself became as soulless and mundane as the work-a-day world and the people who inhabit it without respite.
